O' Crowley, O' Cruadhlaoich.

The sept of O’ Crowley began as an offshoot of the McDermott’s in County Roscommon. Branches settled in Dunmanway in County Cork – and are still much identified with that area. Another small branch of the Crowley family is also found in Connacht. The name is derived from the Words Cruadh – meaning hard, and Laoch – meaning hero.

The hand knit Crowley sweater has a honeycomb central panel flanked by moss filled diamonds and cables on either side. The honeycomb represents work, the cable is symbolic of a wish for good luck and the diamond represents a wish for wealth. This beautiful hand knitted Aran sweater has been hand knitted in the traditional báinin (pronounced ‘baw neen’) colour, the natural white of the wool. It comes to you complete with a Clan history and crest. It is made of 100% pure new wool, is water repellent and breathable. It has been hand crafted in the traditional Irish style, and with care, will last a lifetime.
