The surname O’ Driscoll comes from the Irish O hEidirisceoil, from eidirisceoil meaning ‘go between’ or ‘bearer of news’ Few Irish names have been so continuously associated with their territory of origin as the Driscolls or O’ Driscolls. They belong to County Cork. Originally they were found in West Kerry but pressure from the O’ Sullivan Clan pushed them Eastwards and they settled around Baltimore, and Skibbereen in South West Cork.

The hand knit O’ Driscoll sweater has a blackberry centre panel flanked by cables and two diamond panels on either side. The blackberry stitch symbolises the Holy Trinity, the cable stitch is a wish for good luck and the diamonds are a wish for wealth. This beautiful hand knitted Aran sweater has been hand knitted in the traditional báinin (pronounced ‘baw neen’) colour, the natural white of the wool. It comes to you complete with a Clan history and crest. It is made of 100% pure new wool, is water repellent and breathable. It has been hand crafted in the traditional Irish style, and with care, will last a lifetime.
